By visiting our website and/or purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). Please read them carefully. You can always find the most recent version on this page. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version online.

Governing law & language
All rights, obligations, offers, orders and agreements covered by these Terms are governed by Dutch law and subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Dutch court. If these Terms or any part of our website are translated, the Dutch version shall prevail.

1. Scope & Acceptance

These Terms apply to all offers, sales and agreements between The Archive Store (“we”, “us”, “our”) and you as a consumer (“you”, “customer”). By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and accept these Terms and the policies referenced here (including Shipping, Returns and Privacy).

The Archive Store curates and sells premium lifestyle products through www.thearchivestore.com. We aim to offer a personal, attentive service and to communicate clearly at every step.

2A. Information & Acceptance During Checkout

When placing an order on our website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Terms & Conditions. By completing your purchase, you confirm that you are aware of and agree with these Terms. We recommend saving or printing a copy for your own records, as they apply to every purchase made through The Archive Store.

3. Products & Availability

We take great care in presenting our collections. Colours may vary slightly due to screen settings, and minor differences in material or placement of details are not considered defects. Although we keep our website as current as possible, it may occur that a product is temporarily unavailable. If so, we will inform you as soon as possible and, where appropriate, suggest an alternative or issue a refund.

4. Pricing, Taxes & Duties

All prices are listed in euros (€) and include VAT unless stated otherwise. Shipping costs are shown separately at checkout. For deliveries outside the EU, local import duties or taxes may apply. These are the customer’s responsibility. If a clear pricing or typographical error occurs, we may cancel the order and refund any amount paid.

4A. Price Changes & Availability

Prices and product availability on www.thearchivestore.com are subject to change without prior notice. Such changes do not affect confirmed or completed orders. We strive to keep product information, pricing, and stock status as accurate as possible, but occasional updates or corrections may occur.

5. Ordering & Contract Formation

After checkout, you will receive a confirmation email summarising your order. This confirmation does not yet constitute acceptance. A binding contract is formed once we dispatch your order. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order in case of pricing or technical errors, incorrect or unverifiable details, or suspected fraudulent activity. If you need to correct your details, please contact service@archive-store.nl immediately. Once your order has entered the shipping process, changes are no longer possible.

6. Payment

Payments are securely processed via Shopify Payments, PayPal, or, where available, Klarna Pay Later. We do not have access to your confidential payment details — these are encrypted and processed directly by our payment partners. All transactions are subject to real-time authorization by your card issuer. If a payment is declined, your order will not be processed. If you choose a deferred payment method, the payment provider will contact you directly with instructions. Your use of these services is subject to the respective terms and conditions of each payment provider.

7. Shipping & Delivery

We aim to dispatch all orders within one working day after receiving payment. Orders placed before 15:00 CET usually ship the same day. Delivery times are indicative and may vary depending on location and carrier performance. If we cannot deliver within 30 days of your order (unless otherwise agreed), you may cancel for a full refund.

Upon delivery, please inspect your parcel. If an item arrives damaged or incomplete, contact us promptly so we can assist.

Shipping to the United States
We are pleased to offer shipping to the United States. Shipments are handled via PostNL, which manages import declarations on our behalf. PostNL advances import duties and taxes to U.S. Customs and invoices these charges to The Archive Store, which are then included in our shipping costs.

Import duties and handling fees are calculated based on product type and declared value, with a small administration fee (€0.45 + 2% of the import duty). All costs are transparently included at checkout, meaning no surprise customs charges.

As we activate automated U.S. shipping, checkout may not yet be fully available. If you wish to place an order for shipment to the United States, please email your order details or a screenshot of your shopping cart to service@archive-store.com. Our team will manually create your order and confirm the total amount including shipping and duties before finalising your purchase.

8. Risk & Title

Ownership of goods transfers to you upon full payment and delivery. Responsibility for the products passes to you at that time. Please photograph any visible damage upon arrival and inform us immediately.

8A. Warranty & Conformity

All products offered by The Archive Store comply with the legal warranty provisions under Dutch law. This means that an item must meet what you may reasonably expect based on the agreement. If a product appears defective or non-conforming within a reasonable period, please contact service@archive-store.nl — we will assess the issue and, where applicable, repair, replace, or refund the item free of charge. This legal warranty does not affect your statutory rights and exists in addition to any commercial warranties that may apply to specific products.

9. Right of Withdrawal (Returns)

You may withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason. To initiate a return, email service@archive-store.nl for instructions.

Returned items must be unused, unwashed, unaltered, in original packaging with labels attached, and complete. Return shipping costs are at the customer’s expense, and original shipping fees are non-refundable. For returns outside the EU, mark parcels as 'Return' to prevent unnecessary import duties.

10. Faulty or Incorrect Items

If you receive a faulty or incorrect product, contact us within a reasonable time (preferably within 14 days) including your order number and photos of the issue. We will arrange a replacement where possible or issue a refund in line with your statutory rights.

11. Promotions, Gift Cards & Pre-orders

Promotions are time-limited and subject to specific terms. Gift cards are non-refundable and valid for the duration stated. Pre-order dates are estimates; we will ship items as soon as they become available and keep you informed of any changes.

12. Promotions and Discounts

Promotional offers and discounts are valid only during the stated period and cannot be applied retroactively. If you made a purchase before a promotion or sale begins, The Archive Store will not refund the price difference. Customers subscribed to our newsletter receive advance notice of upcoming promotions. Promotional codes cannot be combined with other offers unless explicitly stated.

13. Liability

All products are selected and handled with care. However, The Archive Store cannot be held responsible for indirect or consequential damages, colour variations, minor product deviations, or carrier delays. Nothing in these Terms limits liability in cases of fraud or wilful misconduct.

14. Force Majeure

In cases of circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including natural disasters, strikes, transport issues or government measures), The Archive Store may suspend or cancel your order without liability. You will be notified and refunded where applicable.

15. Intellectual Property

All content on www.thearchivestore.com — including text, images, design, and graphics — is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. It may not be copied, reproduced or distributed without prior written consent from The Archive Store.

16. Marketing and Advertising Data Use

By using our website, you acknowledge and agree that we may collect and process information about your visit and interactions for marketing and advertising purposes. This data may be shared with third-party advertising platforms, including but not limited to META (Facebook, Instagram), Google, and other providers, to display targeted ads and improve your experience.

We use third-party cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to measure campaign performance, deliver personalized advertising, and analyze site traffic. Your behavior, device information, and engagement with our content may be used to build audiences or retarget advertisements across partner networks.

17. Complaints & Support

If you have a question or complaint, please contact us at service@archive-store.nl. We aim to respond within three working days and resolve matters promptly and fairly.

18. Severability & Updates

If any clause of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. We may update these Terms periodically; the version in effect at the time of your purchase applies, unless required otherwise by law.
