In the heart of Amsterdam, you’ll find the peaceful home of Nina Poot — co-founder of anna+nina and mother to two girls, Sammie and Mae. Nina’s home is a calm retreat in the middle of a bustling life.

“I’ve always loved interiors,” she says. “Even as a kid, I was constantly changing my room, sometimes even swapping rooms with my sister just for fun.”

A Calm City Home

Nina describes her home as “a peaceful oasis”, a welcome contrast to her busy, creative life. Every room is painted in the shade: Shaded White by Farrow & Ball. “It brings calm and consistency,” she says. “Our home has a neutral base, with layers of texture and personal touches.”

From vintage treasures and childhood memories to statement design pieces and beloved anna+nina finds, Nina’s space is full of life. “I like it lived-in. Cozy. A place that feels like us.” Her evening ritual? Having dinner together as a family, lighting the candles and filling the home with fresh flowers. “It instantly makes everything feel more relaxed.”

Next stop: Sammie’s magical room. Her second name is Swan, so naturally, the room is filled with them. One favorite spot is Sammie’s cozy little desk corner, a place to draw, write, or daydream.“Perfect for displaying all kinds memories and treasures.” Nina says. “And don’t forget a canopy. It instantly adds atmosphere.”
