My style is minimalistic and calm, but I also place a lot of importance on coziness. I love adding a pop of color or a print in cushions or other accessories. In the living room, we have a wall full of art, photos, and prints. I believe these personal touches give a home its unique character and warmth.

Start with a neutral base and add color and playfulness through cushions, sheets, rugs, and wall decorations. This way, it’s easy to adjust the room as your child grows and their preferences change. For example, I’ve held off on wallpaper for now, as I’d love Pleun to have a say in that when she’s older. Creating a warm atmosphere is key, and materials like wood, linen, and cotton really help achieve that.

We love going to Artis and enjoy walks through Amsterdamse Bos. There’s also a lovely pancake house with a playground and deer. In the city, we enjoy visiting Le Pain Quotidien and Vondelpark. Recently, we discovered Playhood, a fantastic indoor play area where kids can play and dress up in different shops and houses.
